okay, seriously, this week was so crazy! I dont even know where to start haha!
So we have been teaching Richard (the one who just got out of jail) and we had a member come with us...we were going to teach the plan of salvation, but literally, we got maybe two sentences out, and this member just went off..i have no idea what he was talking about...i actually zoned out most of that lesson..i think he was talking about ancient pictures in a cave that proved Jesus came to the Americas? and a church that has the restoration in the carpet? dude i dont even know.. and then he was kind of over stepping the line and saying things you probably shouldn't say to someone who just got out of jail... So this was going on for like an hour and a half, i was just so done, we didnt teach the plan of salvation at all, so i pulled out the phone and i looked at it pretending there was a text from the zone leaders, and i was like "Oh crap! the zone leaders said they need us ASAP! we gotta go!" lol savage, but it worked! we finally got to leave!
So on saturday, we were doing what we normally do and pass out progress records to the bisops and ward mission leaders, and we were biking down Meridian and we see this dude, so we went up to talk to him and he just started slurring and i was like welp, hes drunk. so then he was like "yeahhhhhhh im intoxicated, i had a 12 pack and my wife kicked me out of the car and my phone is dead, can you charge my phone?" we were like uhh we dont have a phone charger. we kind of felt bad because it was SO hot outside, we had no idea how long hes been outside for, so we were trying to find a place to get him water and let him charge his phone, and i remember we have our next door neighbor who is a cop...they are super nice and are members so it was good. so we took him over there because we had no idea what to do with him... he kept telling us he was laying in a field for a long time and just praying for a miracle that someone would help him and then he found us, but anyways, we took him to the Levitt's house and and brother levitt said he could call some police officers to help him out...and Brian was like oh crap, im goin to jail..i have a warrant down in utah...hes from salt lake and was baptized 3 years ago..and he was speaking Navajo... anyways...before he left he asked for our number and asked if we could visit him in jail...we were like uhhh sorry, cant do that, but have a good time.
So, a couple nights ago we met with this kid Casey... it was super awkward because we had to do it at the church and it was dark outside, and we didnt have a fellowship, so thats even more awk...just the 3 of us...but his whole family is against religion so we couldn't go to his house... But he had SO many questions, and we got to answer most of them, and then we taught the whole restoration. after all that, we asked how he felt about it or what he was thinking, and he said..."honestly i just came here because i had nothing else to do, i dont really want religion and its not for me, but thanks for answering all my questions." we bore our guts out of testimony to him for an hour and a half, and thats what we get...oh well...basic mission life haha!
