definitely a good week this week!!

Monday was super fun! after emailing we went ice skating with the zone! Well actually, half the elders came, so it was 4 sisters and 4 elders and it was a little awkward and it felt like a group date so we just stayed away from them haha!

Tuesday was weird..i had an appointment for a Brazilian Blowout at 10, which was the same time as district meeting..oops  but we could not find the flippin place and we kept calling them and the wouldn't answer or call back...so i didnt get my Brazilian Blowout lol and i missed district meeting for nothing! Our district leader texted me and said "welp, because of you, our district meeting is super boring because you're not here...thanks" So now im not allowed to miss district meeting again haha!

So Wednesday or Thursday we had a lesson with Kenny and we were going to teach Priesthood and Temples...but he sent us this huge text about things...so we had to change our lesson for his wife about priorities haha! But brother Buchholzer (our ward mission leader)  was supposed to come, but he ended up not being able to come, so he asked Bishop if he could come... we had no idea Bishop Smith was coming, and when we started the lesson we asked how their commitments about the word of wisdom was coming along, and they said good, and bishop was like what word of wisdom problems? and they wouldn't say anything...and bishop kept trying to pry it out of them and it was SO AWKWARD because they wouldn't say anything about it! But the rest of the lesson was pretty good! i LOVE Kenny and Heidi SO much! They seriously are my favs!

Okay...so..I have been worrying about this lady in our ward because her son was getting out of jail soon and he is going to be living with her. But we haven't seen her in forever, so last night I wanted to go see her, so we go over and she answered and said WE are just about to eat dinner. and i was like WE? and she said yeah do you want to meet my son? i was just thinking awwww crap. so we go in and we met Richard and he said he JUST got out of jail that night. we were like..ohh. awesome.. and he asked if we were visiting teachers and we were like nah were missionaries. and he said "oh cool, while i was in jail i asked God if he wanted me to be a Mormon and to give me an answer",and he said he got his answer..so he wants to take the lessons and be baptized. But honestly, the whole time we were talking to him i had no idea what he was saying... like he was talking about constellations and how the moon and the stars and Jupiter were all aligned under O'Ryans belt? dude i don't know, i was just nodding my head. but before we left he gave us a huge bag of peanut m&ms...so that was good!

I hope everyone has a good week!

People actually talked to us this week!!

K so the other day we were out and about and we went to the Colsons house, hoping they still lived there. so we knocked on the door, and we hear a window open upstairs, and someone yelled can i help you?! so we walked over and looked up and this lady was just chillin in the upstairs window. So we told her we were missionaries and she was like, oh arent y'all a cult? i just laughed and was like nah, i don't know why people think that. and she was like oh cool, yall got a pamphlet? we were like uhhh yeah of course! so she came downstairs and we gave her a restoration pamphlet and taught her about the restoration of the gospel! she was loving it! she was asking kind of hard questions tho... she asked me why God would let bad things happen to good people, or just anyone in general.
I had NO IDEA what to say, but I opened my mouth and words just started coming out and it was awesome! I said something like we need opposition so when we experience sorrow we can know joy and happiness. I honestly have no idea what I really said. but she stopped me and said, wow you're really smart, shook my hand and told me her name was Bobbi Jo. I was just really confused because i had no idea what was happening! Heavenly Father had my back on that one for sure. But then Sister Sperry did a really good job explaining the Book of Mormon! Bobbi was like "so we need the Book of Mormon because its about the people in ancient America, and God loves all his children, so he helped the people in America right?" we were just SO excited because NO ONE understands that, we didn't even tell her that, she just asked if thats what it was about! So then we gave her our number and that night she texted us and asked to meet our bishop! So right now shes SUPER golden! So we have an appointment tomorrow to give her a tour of the church and to meet Bishop Smith!

So a LONG time ago, Sister Farrer and I were tracting and we knocked on this ladys door and she was speaking some middle eastern language, so we couldn't talk to her, but the other day Sister Sperry and I were going to our dinner appointment but we were kind of early, so we decided to try and talk to her neighbors, and we ended up knocking on that ladys door again (i had no idea that was that same ladys house, im not the most observant person) but she answered, and I was like awe crap, sorry to bug you again, but her son came out and he spoke English! so he talked to us and he was telling us how he was happy we came back because he said his mom told him missionaries came over and he wanted to talk to us! he asked if we had a book so we gave him the Book of Mormon and he was pretty excited! he wants to take the lessons but he's super busy with school, so he said hopefully we will still be here so we can teach him! so we gave him our number and he said he will text us when he is free! Then later that night he texted us and thanked Sister Sperry for sharing her experience with the church!

So the other day we get a call from the ap's (assistant to the president) and they told us some other sisters in the mission got into a car accident, and they needed a car, so they asked if they could take our car. We were totally fine with it because our areas are pretty close to each other, so its fine to bike, BUT this was a pretty bad week to take our car because its been RAINING 24/7! so yesterday we biked to church in the rain haha! its been fun, but also miserable... But that's about how our week has been!

I love yall!

apparently because i've been out 6 months i'm not allowed to talk...

Welp...... This week has just been... ehhh. I guess it was a weird week because it was transfer week. But Im excited because i have a good companion! She's actually waiting for her visa to go to Trinidad, so she will probably be leaving at the end of this transfer. Its pretty fun training. I never really wanted to ever be senior companion because that's more work haha but its fun! AND I get to drive the Malibu...so that's a plus.

Our new zone is good, we are ALL pretty savage and sassy so its funny! Our new district leader is elder gleave! he was in D Ridge when i first got here, and now hes back and hes a district leader now! hes been out one transfer ahead of me. But we are homies, so district calls are wayyy more fun! Its just sooo good to have a unified zone!

So on Saturday morning we were biking to Bishops house to drop off a progress record, and we saw this lady biking with her 2 grand kids, and we stopped to talk to her, and she was telling us how shes a catholic and she kept asking questions that made absolutely no sense, and she asked how long we have been out, so i was like 6 months and Sister Sperry said 1 and a half months, so after she found out how long we have been out, the lady WOULD NOT LET ME TALK. it was so annoying! she just kept bashing Sister Sperry with weird questions, and finally I tried to help her out, and the lady just looked at me, put her hand up, said stop talking,...She looked over at Sister Sperry and just bashed her again...i was like whaaaaatttt the heckkkkkk is going on! it was sooo funny! so finally she was done and let us go, she told us she loved us both and to have a good day.  ðŸ˜Š

We had a lesson with one of our investigators and taught follow the prophet, 10 commandments, and the word of wisdom. so as we were teaching the word of wisdom, he was looking down at the pamphlet and his wife mouthed "he chews tobacco" and he didn't see her do that, so he has no idea we know, so it was really awkward haha. but next lesson we have to address that. BUT he's on date for March 11th! So we are really excited for him!

We have a new Potential in Mountain Ranch! we tracted into her, we told her about church and she thought only Mormons were allowed to go, so she was pretty excited she could go! then we told her about the Book of Mormon and she has one from other missionaries, but she wouldn't read it, because in the Bible it doesn't say anything about other records from the ancient Americas, but i shared Moroni's promise with her and invited her to read the Book of Mormon and she said she would! She really liked Moroni's promise (Moroni 10 3-5)
Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
So we are super excited to meet with her again!

Guys, this church is SO true! Having this opportunity to dedicate 18 months of my life to serve the Lord has helped me come closer to Christ and strengthen my testimony! When I think back when I didn't want to serve a mission I get so sad because I wouldn't have this experience to grow more in the gospel. My priorities are way more straight. I guess life really isn't all about Netflix and pizza.

Transfer Calls.......

Well this week was pretty lame. So Tuesday after district meeting, we went to the Boulder Creek building so Sister Farrer could do My Plan, then we were sad because we realized that was her last district meeting ever, and that this was her last week, so we went to Dairy Queen to get food and ice cream. Then we went home and took a little nap, and i woke up SO SICK. Like i have no idea if it was something i ate or what but it wasn't fun...Then Sister Farrer had a huge migraine, so we stayed in. Then Wednesday came and i was even more sick and i was just puking my guts out all day wednesday and Sister Farrer got sick too. Then Thursday came and WE WERE STILL SICK. so for 3 days straight we were couch bound...so all we could do was lay down and watch movies...so we watched Joseph Smith the Restoration, The Testaments, a random Nephi cartoon, The District, Mountain of the Lord and other random things like that... So its been a struggle. and it sucked because this was Sister Farrers last week of proselyting...and we had to stay in for half of it ):

So Friday we were better, so that was good because that was the day all the departing Missionaries go to the temple with President and Sister Wheeler! But that was during weekly planning, so while home girl was at the temple i had to do weekly planning for 3 hours by myself. But it was all good, i didn't get too distracted by the elders, and i actually finished planning at a decent time lol...that never happens.

Then Saturday we did the usual and went to Amys farm in the morning. Sister Ridds daughter Nicole came with us and it was pretty fun! Dude This one goat, Winston is such a bully and always tries to attack us when we come. i got a vid of him trying jump on us haha. OH! and i got to  take an alpaca on a walk! it was so funny! one random lady saw us while she was on a run and thought it was so funny, so she asked  to take a pic of us..we were like "uh, duh you can take a pic of us walking alpacas! why wouldn't you!?" haha

So Sunday was a good day. I love going to church all day! i dont know if its because im a missionary or what, but thats a blessing because before i could barely handle 1 hour of church. But we got transfer calls Sunday night and IM SO SAD! some of my favorite elders are leaving! good thing this mission is tiny, and ill see them all the time. and now im getting a new district leader because elder Tomlinson is getting transferred): But i bet itll be okay because a lot of good district leaders and being transferred, so hapefully i get one of them haha! and we are getting a new zone leader): Elder Merritt has been my ZL from day 1, so its pretty sad to see him leave....buuuuuut i guess its whatever
Im excited to see what this next transfer brings me! love you all!
